I love the Janet Evonivch books! They are laugh out loud funny!
On a mission to clean out the kids rooms, starting tomorrow. One is a total packrat! I find papers, trash, little things all over his room. His version of cleaning is the "Hide It" method. Should be an all day project in his room. The other is very basic--his legos, pool table and playstation and everything else is in the way. Totally believes in putting things where they belong. How are two kids so TOTALLY different? Clean up, Clean up, everybody do their share.........

Hi All,

It's been a LONG time (schools out for me and the kids and my life is finally settling down). I can't even begin to try to catch up with all the pages since I last logged - so I'm just jumping back in!

Well, Silver I was all set to pick up "Confessions..." when the library called to tell me they were holding a book for me. "Lean Mean Thirteen" by Janet Evanovich was just released and I was high enough on the list to get a copy right from cataloguing! I know that doesn't sound all that exciting, but being able to get a book by one of my fave authors right on release that hasn't been smeared with chocolate, covered in coffee or smothered in cat hair is a really special treat for me. What is it with some book borrowers? I might have a beverage while I read or even dash through a few pages during lunch, but I don't use my cup to hold the book open, try to eat my mustard laden sub sandwich over the book, or let my cat sleep on the book when I'm not reading. Some people are PIGS!!!!

My kids are arguing too. This morning my daughter wanted me to specifically assign the chores I had on the list to each person. My son has a tendency to do as little as possible, and he knows if he does it half way his sister will finish it because it drives her crazy, but I DO NOT have time to calculate out the time it takes for each chore and distribute the duties equally. I gave him a lecture and am trying to figure out a better way to get things done. Ugh!!!

Brace yourself everyone ... the countdown to Paris's release has begun. :eek:
DLF - yea ... we are all one big loving family after two school free weeks also. Thank goodness I had the sensibility to enroll the kids in some sports activities etc. Honestly I can't remember the day I made all those decisions but it was obviously one of my better days. At any rate, this summer I am the typical 'soccer Mom' but if it's the price I have to pay for exhausted kids who just don't have the energy to fight at the end of the day I know I have made a difference.
Had another Mom notice the new book I was reading. She said she stopped me to ask questions about the book becasue the cover was hilarious. I am hoping the content of the book is a fun as the outside.

Just saw Fantastic 4--should have waited for the DVD...not worth FIFTY DOLLARS it now costs us to go to the movies and buy a popcorn and soda (and that's sneaking in candy). AAAARGH....

Harry Potter is the last one for the summer...(already told the boys). Now boys are downstairs fighting....AHHHHHH
