Question: Who Can Serve?

We are voting for the new board and there is a challenge for Tresurer. The position is currently held by a parent member and the challenger is a memeber of the school's office support staff. Should the position be held by a non-parent member if there is a parent willing to serve, or is this a conflict?

Check your Bylaws - ours states that the person must be a member of the PTO and membership shall consist of the parents and guardians of children currently enrolled at our school, and the faculty of our school who are interested in the purpose of the organization and are willing to uphold the bylaws.
