We also got the Elite Island Deal - I don't think it is a timeshare, but the mandatory meal plan that guests must purchase is between $110 - $125 per person per night. So a family of four would be paying $500 per night in addition to what they bought the trip for at auction, plus the airfare to get there. It just doesn't seem like a good deal to me - we will probably not use ours.
Lisa - do a search on the board. There is a lot of mixed feedback. It may or may not be a timeshare deal. They pretty much hand them out to anyone requesting them.
@Lisa-
It is legit, just make sure you read the fine print. Airfare is not included and the winner MUST purchase a meal package. It will add quite a bit to the bid price. Because of that, we started the bidding well below the 30% of value. Make sure you clearly state the extra costs in your program/table card, etc. and you should be fine. We had three offered last year. Only one sold. But that was $250 we may not have had otherwise.
I just received a 7 night accomodation for Elite Isand Resorts. Has anyone gotten this as well? I read that some people sent requests to them. I was suprised to get an answer within a day. I am hoping this is legit??? I guess I am little skeptical because I have emailed and mailed so many requests to hotels, resorts, etc. and have received No's. This came back very quickly and they were very generous.
My Canvas on Demand showed up a few weeks after I submitted the request on-line. That was last year, now I'm waitting to see if they send one this year!
