I applied for the Disney Park Hopper tickets for our Silent Auction that is being held in conjunction with our Student Showcase and was turned down. We are a public school and have a 501 c3 number. Could anyone please share with me what they wrote to be able to get the Park Hopper tickets. I applied in February and our event is April 24th so we were in the timeframe. Thanks for your help!
New fundraising idea: Ruby Tuesdays now offers a 'giving back' program. They donate 20% of net sales to your group for hosting a prescheduled event in which diners bring in a flyer of participation. pinterest.com/pin/561120434792959827/
The "501c3 certificate" is actually the determination letter your organization received when you were approved for 501c3 tax-exempt status. This is the only proof you receive from the IRS that your organization is tax-exempt (and thus, donations to your group can be deducted by the donor). Most national companies won't donate to a group that isn't 501c3.
If you're not sure whether you have 501c3 status, check the IRS database here:
Last year, we received Wheel of Fortune like the week before our event.
For the certificate, I usually show them our letter from the IRS confirming our 501c status. They usually accept that. I'm not aware of any actual certificate.
