Food trucks are pretty popular here. We have had them come in and they donate a chunk of their profits to us. It's less work for us in the long run and we make as much money. We rely mostly on product sales, silent auction and raffle as well as ticket sales anyway. Plus some people just come for the food trucks.

Hi Everyone, This thread has been such a wonderful resource for me as I try to put together my first event for my schools marching band. I have gone through all of the pages in the old and new thread and it has been EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you for continuing this.
I do have a question that I hope you can help with. We are putting together a fundraising event for our schools marching band in New Jersey. Our event is not until the end of September and so far I have gotten numerous donations for our gift basket raffles, thanks to this thread =). However, we also sell food at our event (which is usually our biggest source of income) and I have been having a hard time trying to find companies to donate food. I have contacted many companies ie. Hormel, Hillshire Farms, Sara Lee, Pepsi Co. etc and haven't had any success. I know we will get some donations from local food stores and pizzerias as we get closer but I was just wondering if there is an untapped resource I might be missing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank for all you do here and as I get my donations in I will post them to help others as well. :)

If you are planning a raffle, check your state regulations. Some states prohibit raffles; others require permits or applications to hold one as it can be considered gambling.

Re: Disney raffle- we sold raffle tickets for 5.00 each and raised 1100.00. We limited the tickets to our school community, though so by sharing thru social media, etc...it could be much larger. Best to you!

Raleigh - it can be any of those things. They can donate money to be used to throw the event i.e. rental fees or advertisements, or products or gift cards for a silent auction or raffle, or they can give you food or drinks if you're having a dinner.
