Is the only post you've ever made on the PTO Today forum to Bash this list? I think its pretty ugly of you to be so negative. Feel free to never read or post again since its so horrible. I had not a clue where to start when it came to securing items from chains and large retailers so that's why I followed the list and chose the ones I wanted to pursue.
You have me to thank for reposting the list. Its done far more good than harm. Feel free to not read it, no one will miss your snide remark.
Jeannine,
If you have a 8th grade dance at a catering hall, you can ask them if they would donate. Sometimes because they know they are getting a big event at the end, they are more willing to donate.
something we do in our school (K-5) on Long Island is ask the teachers, staff and administrators who want to paticipate (which most do) - to donate "win a lunch with ____" - they usually will take 2 or more kids or 1 winner with friends to lunch (pizza, diner, deli). we put each teacher's name on a lunch bag and at a family event at school sell raffle tickets. the school is walking distance to many places, but if you are not, you can see if you principal will allow you to order in. Once the child wins - a permission slip goes home to make sure it is okay (allergie wise and everything else). Kids look forward to it all year.
Have you contacted any other restaurants in your area? Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Noodles & Co, and Qdoba have all donated to our fundraisers in the past and have been very generous in the amount of food that they give to us. I'm not sure if there's any of those restaurants in your area.
