to Nella who asked about the iPad raffle.... we raffled a refurbished iPad, donated by a parent each time, at our last two auctions. Ticket price was $25 and we sold enough to make $1200 each time. I had one mother whose sole job was to sell tickets and she walked and talked it up all night. (She's not a big buyer, so was a perfect volunteer for it.) She set a goal for herself for how many tickets she wanted to sell and made it happen. Also, last year, when a guest purchased a ticket, he/she got a temporary tattoo to put on (our theme was "The Heart of Houston" and the Logo was a tattoo-styled heart). When other people saw folks walking around with the tattoo it was advertisement for the raffle. You could come up with some other attention grabbing trinket - this year we are doing VIP/backstage "passes" to put around peoples necks.
for those who want the list of 120, it's around page 355 give or take. it only takes a few minutes to go through the postings.
