Could we move this piece of the thread to a new topic so that it's easier to find in the future? I think it's valuable information but it is buried here.

Rose - can you break existing threads into more than one thread? If so, would you consider doing that with this one?

Hi, my first year that I wrote people for donations all at the same time, I keep a card system, (recipe cards) that way if they tell you to send later, or earlier. Also you can keep all notes on what they donate, addresses, who you contacted. Good luck to you. I hope this helped.

Hi folks,

Just curious. I've been reading posts about the timing of donation letters. We know many of you are successful getting your requests out well ahead of time. Yet, some vendors ask that a donation request be made within certain time parameters.

What are your best strategies for dealing with this? Do some of you send out all your requests at once and then use a tracking system to keep tabs and perhaps even reissue a request? Or do you use some form of a scheduling system to send out letters at different times leading up to your event?

Would be great to hear how some folks handle this!

Thanks,
