A good idea for a high dollar donation is to try to get a local orthondontist to donate a set of braces. We have two in town that usually do and they bring thousands of dollars at our auctions.

Wall hanging, Gaiam Balance Ball chair, Wilderness of the Smokies (Located in Pigeon Forge TN), Dollywood (locate in Pigeon Forge Tn), Dogswell Nice Gift Basket , Brainquest Three Nice Workbooks, Disney Passes, AirTran Airways , Jan Brett Poster signed, Ritz Camera if you have a store near you gift certificate, Fun Expedition if there is one near you passes for 4, Crave games DS and Wii Games, Mentor Interactive Ds and Wii Games, Cataloochee Ski Area Ski Pakage, Dicks sporting goods Gift Cert., Ryans Steak house gift cert., Organic Valley Year supply of milk, Irwin Tools three nice tools , Greg Olsen Art Nice Print, Lots of authors too numerous to list I just went through best seller lists and started emailing different types Mystery, Romance, children's, etc and I have about five baskets on various types of signed books, also type in donation requests on google and there will be a long list of websites to send emails or faxes to and also type in local city and state and type of donation you are looking for like city, state dance lessons or massage and there will be lots to chose from and many will accept email requests I haven't yet went stomping the pavement all online of fax requests and only started in July so dont give up be diligent and donations will come your way I will keep you up to date on more that come in I only have a month and a half left so it is crunch time!

Thanks to everyone that has sent us donation requests for our business My Three Golfers. We will still try to fill as many requests as possible from now until the end of 2010. We do have a couple of requests: the donation must be for a school event and your school must be located in the Southeast, which is where we are located. Thanks!

We do parties a little differently at our school and I have yet to read it on this site so I am sharing with all of you. This has, year after year, proven to be a GREAT moneymaker for the school.

We ask couples to donate parties. They group up (2-4 couples...however many you like) and design a theme and a MAX number of people they'll host. Hosts also determine a "value" per person (it's usually between $50-$75). We do NOT auction these parties off as a whole...where one person buys the package at a large cost. We have a SIGN-UP sheet. Whatever number of attendees the hosts designate, we put on a list. Whatever cost the host determines per person for this party is the cost a person will pay when they "sign up" for the event. If the party is for 30 at $50 a head, the first 30 people that sign up for the event get to go and they each pay $50.

The is SO successful because people don't think twice about paying a small amount to go to a party. One person paying for an entire party is sometimes hard to stomach. Additionally, if the party does not go for very much money, the hosts involved feel like their time and money on the event is wasted. For this reason, you cannot have too many of these parties. If they don't max out (we find they usually do) the hosts know the number in advance and they downsize for the group.

Advertising the themes and hosts in advance of the event is key. People will make sure they sign up. I have 6 of these parties confirmed for this year, two very possible and I hope to have 10. My goal, financially, for sign up parties is >10,000. Our school is K-8, b/w 40-60 per class....appx 450 students.
