These were all yes's for me:

Your True Nature - sending basket
Wikki Stiks - Big Box of 460 Wikki Sticks
Thomas Vasquez Entertainment - signed Tom Agnew CD
Tornado Hockey Team - tickets
Pink Calyx - $50 gift cert
Keurig - coffee maker & coffee
Jan Brett - poster
Disneyland California - 4 park hopper tickets
Arthur Murray Dance Studio - local area office - Dance Lessons
Jeff Deck - book (Random House/Crown Publishing Co)
Bill Gaither through Gaither.com

Waiting on reponses from the rest of my list.

Take a look at the no's below before devoting your time to these for the 2010 year. Several have said they are saying no because they have had too many requests. Might try back after first of the year or late December. Although our auction is not until February, I still received many no's until I explained by phone or by second email that the auction is not until 2011. Be careful to include all info in the email as well as the attached donation letter. Sometime people do not read further than the email if they are no longer accepting 2010 donation requests.

No's from:

Primerica Bank (asked not to be contacted for donations)
Kaleidascope Toys (only donates to local business in Round Rock Texas)
Kohls (only donates to Hospitals benefiting children with disabilities)
I Can Do That! Games (too many requests)
Green Home (too many requests)
F.A.I.T.H Company (have to find a local distributor)
Charlain Harris - Author (too many requests)
Bodum Company - (too many requests)
Aerus - (too many requests)
Mercy Me - Gospel Group - (they only donate to their one designated charity)
Asa Hutchinson Law Group - (only donate to local groups in Rodgers, Arkansas)

Hope this helps!

I've had success with the following (usually just filling out the online "contact us" form through the company's website or emailing when they've listed an address. A few have re-directed me to a certain form or contact person):
Kodak online photo printing
Stella and Dot
Olan Mills
Tennessee Titans
Pepper Palace
Dollywood
Louisville Slugger Museum/ Factory

These are in addition to businesses previously listed here. I also have some ideas for local/ small business KY people, if anyone is interested.

I'm chairing a silent/live auction for a private shcool in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Every year I get oceanfront vacation homes and condos donated to us, but locals aren't willing to pay as much for them. I'm seeking other schools that have the same problem and would be willing to swap vacation homes. Particularly in Orlando, NY City, Mountains, and other areas that people would want to vacation. Does anyone else have the same problem? If so, contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I've been working with my school's auction for the last 8 years and only this year have started looking outside our own local area.

In NY a lot of the museaums will donate - you have to snail mail the request.

Chelsea Piers usually donates - you can get a request form from their website

Gotham Comedy Club donates as well

We were lucky last year with American Girl - they only donate once every four years

We have only recently starting on line requests and any lists you have to share would be great please email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This list has been helpful and a great place to start - I appreciate all of your hard work to help out!

Just thought I woud let you know some of the authors I got books from so far.
I traveled off the beaten path and actually went to best seller lists and bookstores writing down authors and seeing if they had a website and all of these i got from just emailing them or their contacts. I am not going to put them in any particular order and keep in mind some are adult authors and other children's/
  • Anne Perry
  • Bernard Cornwell
  • Debbie Macomber (bestseller) she gave a signed book and tea and notepad that made a nice basket
  • Debbe Radey
  • Janet Evanovich
  • John Lescroart
  • Katherine Holabird
  • Leo Berenstein
  • Paulette Bogan great donation several signed books and posters
  • Rebecca Skloot
  • Sheila Roberts
  • Jessica Brody ( great Tween/teen book I think bestseller)
  • Sue Monk Kidd
  • Scott Turow
  • J.T. Ellison
  • Paula Dean signed cookbook
  • Robert Munsch signed copy of Love You Forever a beloved childs book
  • Roxie Monroe
  • Stuart Woods
  • Mike Thaler
  • Sara Paretsky
and I am sure there are many more that will gladly donate signed works.

Good Luck and don't get discouraged you will have lots of no's but eventually you will get lots of yes's also remember often times you hear no reply just get a donation unexpectedly from many authors, companies, etc.
