So great to see this list growing! Every once in a while I jump in and re-post SLfournier's original guidelines to this thread... so here they are:
PLEASE:
1) Only list sources you have had success with.
2) If you have questions for a poster, please contact them directly - not through this thread. This thread is supposed to be a Listing.
3) Use the following format for your listing
COMPANY NAME
-- Mailing Address -or- URL for online form
-- How long it took you to get a response
-- What did the company donate?
-- Your comments
We just received 3 prints from storypeople...I am dividng the prints into 3 seperate baskets and in 2 I am including 2 free passes for our area art musuem, and the last one I am including a gift certificate for a paint oyur own pottery studio...
That helps alot, thank you. I guess I'm back to square one, however, and need to start over on finding email addresses for all the Corporate Offices I found addresses for. I assume you were sending the emails to their corporate offices, right?
Oh, that reminds me, I found a great site for getting corporate office addresses and phone, if anyone is interested. It's ecorporateoffices.com
I just used the word "Request" in the subject line. In the e-mail I told them who we were ,a little information about our event, and gave our school website link. I asked them if they would consider giving a donation to support us and that an official letter and tax id was attached. Thanked them for their consideration and signed with my name and address. (Since ours was an online auction, I also gave them our auction link so that they could see who had already contributed. I think this was especially helpful for the restaurants, and we received gift certificates from 40 restaurants ranging from $20 to $100.)
We originally sent out letters and didn't hardly get a response for two months, so I decided to go back to the same ones with e-mail requests and we had a very good response. (In many cases their e-mail response gave me a direct contact e-mail to forward it to.)
