Good questions. I heard from them fairly quickly and just filled out forms online, or sent emails to the companies in question.
Basically, I assume like everyone else and used google to search for Donation Request forms or Donation Request forms Kansas City, donation request form resort
things like that
Also, yesterday received tickets for the NW Arkansas AA team for the Royals, again, online form.
I will admit, on some of the emails that I wrote to local restaurants that do not have form I lied a bit, but hey, I do what I can. For example, use Google to find owner or manager and wrote.
First off let me say I love your restaurant. This is where my finance first took me to dinner and the experience was awesome!!! Blah blah and so on (I am not a writer by trade but I can sure lay the crud down when I need to:) and wa la, certificates in the mail.
I think sometimes you just have to be creative.

Stacy, how long did it take you to hear from Elite Island Resorts? What do you think made your request a success?

A couple of questions. First though, I am not with a school but looking for fund raising options for ball team and all of your help has been tremendous. Thank you.
Question.
1)Anyone heard of elite island resorts?
I received a yes from them but was wondering is anyone was familiar
Dear stacy,
Thank you for considering Elite Island Resorts to assist in your fundraising efforts at KC Patriots. We're happy to provide you with 3) 7-night Caribbean Resort Accommodation Certificates for your fundraising auction on February 11, 2012. You will receive the items and some display materials in the mail shortly. If you have any questions regarding the donation, please feel free to reach out at any time.
Your certificate # is SVP3228 and it expires Mar 01, 2013.
7-nights accommodations each for St. James's Club Antigua, Verandah Resort & Spa Antigua and Palm Island Resort Grenadines. Valid for up to two rooms. Does not include airfare or all-inclusive meal plans. Expires one year from date of your event.
2) Has anyone ever used fundraising rides dot org?
Anybody in the Kansas City area I have had luck with
Royals Chiefs, Chicago Cub, Chicago Bears, Gaslight grill, Chipotle, Build a Bear, Jaegers Paint Ball, Garmin, gourmetgiftbaskets and other local places.
Also, go by the Plaza Customer Service office and they will donate a flag that they hang from the light poles during the year. They are 3 foot by 5 foot and would make an awesome item for a rec room, bedroom, dorm etc that has helped us.

Don;t be discouraged. You're 501c3 isn't a "golden ticket", but your passport. You aren't going to get much outside of local businesses if you don;t have one.

13 positive responses in this economy is amazing. There are some really talented people on here who make it look easy, but it is a hard thing to get donations, especially as a volunteer. Start local- you'll see more results that way!

I went through all 130 pages in this forum and sent out 217 requests either by mail, email, or in person, all over the last month. So far I got only 13 yeses, mostly from local, and still waiting on hundreds of replies.

I was able to get from the Jets, Turkey Hill, Sight and Sound Theater, Cabot Cheese, and Joe's Pub.

I am very interested in getting some ideas from the lady in FL as we would really like to get a hotel near Disney for free and anything else from the local attractions.
