I've seen the Elite Islands donation before. They're not selling anything, but it's not as great a deal as it seems. Obviously the winner has to pay for airfare, but the resort makes their money with the mandatory food package you have to buy. Most of them are about $125 per person, per day. Meaning for a 7 night stay, you're looking at $1,750 (or more) for two people. I'm sure the resorts have other things they're hoping to sell you as well, tour guides, snorkeling, etc.
In all it's a decent donation, but make sure that your bidders are aware of the MANDATORY food package they have to buy to enjoy the trip. Otherwise you'll have some sad (and potentially angry) guests.
I also got that same response from Elite Island Resorts. I am now nervous that that sounds too good to be true. I am hoping that there isn't a seminar that people have to sit through or that it is fake. Has anyone else used this place before?
If it is legit, then I am so excited for this find!! This will hopefully be very popular at our event!!
