Robyn...it might be tough, from what I have seen most of the companies that I have applied for say that it cannot be for an individual, and most require 501(c)(3). However, if you look at like artists, authors, local businesses...you would prob get some things. Also, I would look to the VA for some help...they might be able to give you places to ask?
We are holding a fundraiser for a young Marine who lost both legs and part of his right hand in Afghanistan. We are in Illinois. Anyone have any good companies that donate in Illinois? We are looking for silent auction/raffle items for our event. Can anyone help with some advice on companies to try and reach?
This year two of our most popular items are FREE One is a ride to school in a police car (donated by our Police Dept) was HUGE last year and the second is being able to write a personal message on our Marquee for a week (ie. happy birthday or Happy graduation). Tried to get the ride to school on a Fire Dept but didn't have a good enough contact! Just some outside of the box ideas to share!

I have also received many items to make baskets from family and friends. Before Christmas I let everyone know that I would gladly take any unwanted Christmas gifts they received. I informed them of my event and the amount of items I received has been overwhelming.
