Thanks for the kind words, onaroll! How was your rainy day dinner? It sounds wonderful.
Only in Illinois..... I was zipping along a two-lane country road this morning. Corn fields on both sides of the road. Beautiful weather ~ breezy, sunny and a cool 55 degrees. I'm singing my heart out to November Rain by Guns & Roses. I come over the top of a hill just lost in my own little world when, What?!?! Are those cows??? Six giant black cows are just meandering around without a care in the world. So, I slow down, turn on my flashers and call 911. It was hard not to laugh when the operator said, "911. What's your emergency?" So I tell her and she laughs. She asks me if I know who's cows they are. I feel like I'm smack in the middle of a Green Acres episode. By now traffic is piling up. Some guy is trying to use his pickup truck to herd them to the ditch but the corn is too high so there's nowhere for them to go. Three other guys in pickup trucks create a barrier so the cows at least couldn't run away or get into worse traffic. I got the heck out of there before one of those cows mistook my big black car for one of the herd.
I think I'll have chicken for dinner tonight......

Luv, We like to put a couple of beef boullion (sp?) cubes and a a couple of slices of bacon (rolled up and held together with toothpicks for easy discarding). They are sooooooo good. Let us know if you try anything different.
That sounds good too, onaroll. I'll have to try that.
This cooler weather we're having here has me thinking of soups and crock pot meals. I've got to get some plans for things that can be kept hot since with everyone's practices and other activities we are eating at all different times. Going to do chili this weekend!
LUV - for my beans I saute (sp?) them with a little bit of olive oil and a dab (or two!) of butter, some salt, pepper and fresh minced garlic. yum.....
I'm getting kind of hungry now:D

Last nights moment of Zen ... after the realization mother nature can be brutal (below 40 here last night) we gathered up all the fixings for smores, marched outside with our coats and started up the firepit. A night with the family, no tv, and complete relaxation under the stars.

onaroll, that dinner sounds yummy! Do you just steam your green beans? I do mine up with a little minced onion and bacon, and in a salute to Paula-a little real butter. I simmer them on top of the stove so the flavors all blend nicely.
