dlf ~ congratulations! If anyone can pull off a spectacular carnival in 10 days it would be you. Your school is lucky, lucky, lucky.

OMGosh--I harken back to when I gave birth for the fourth time... I remember being in the throes (sp) of labor (no meds) and saying to my husband "I'm so glad I'm never doing this again....THAT'S EXACTLY how I felt at our Fall Festival tonight...I thougt (as all the wonderful events transpired...kind of like the miracle of birth) THANK GOODNESS I am NEVER doing this again......so I have many details and many FABULOUS stories to give you all after I get some sleep--but truly---throwing a carnival in 10 days...

Yep, I've also noticed this year that I have to hold things out there just to read what it says. I used to make fun of my older sister about the same thing, guess I spoke too soon.

Thoughts and prayers go out again tonight for all in California.

Made chocolate, peanut butter brownies yesterday. They're gone! Also made pumpkin bread, girls ate all of it for an after school snack. Of course, they all passed up supper! Ha!

onaroll ~ you're the best! :D Thanks for the cocoa. I'll take mine straight up for now but will be ready for the Bailey's in a couple of hours. And cookies too?!?!?! yummy.

It's a beautiful fall day here too. It's absolutely my most favorite time of year. Even when I lived in the south, we were in areas that had the changing seasons. I'd be sad without fall and spring! My friend in Albertville, Alabama says it finally raining a nice steady drizzle there so they're making up a bit for the drought. (Thanks onaroll!)

I'm such a cheeseball for Christmas. I was in Borders bookstore Monday and they had the new Josh Groban Christmas CD out. I've listened to it four times already. Now I have to make myself put it up and wait until after Thanksgiving.....

I got new glasses yesterday. Whew, getting old is expensive. I had to get bifocals (bifocals!) and a pair of reading glasses to wear if my contacts are in instead. I'm only 42. But I guess my eyes are older... I'm just a little vain so I went with the pricier transition lenses. I drew the line at the little neck chain thing, though. I'll wait another 10 years or so until dementia sets in and I start losing things before I wear my glasses around my neck!
