LIMBO???????? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I could just see me trying to do the limbo, hahaha snort snort hahahahaha. Ok, deep breath and exhale s-l-o-w-l-y. WHEW! I needed a laugh.
I'll take a shot at the karaoke though, never have before (bawk bawk) but with enough liquid libation, I might be the next American Idol. hehe
The magazine sale has been put to bed and all the Cash for Trash is counted and bundled, so until our meeting next Tuesday...WOOOOHOOOO, my time is my own. Geez, wonder what I'll do, probably spend most of it in my son's classroom, I've been neglectful lately. Dag nab it, I forgot I have to get our newletter out too.
Well, guess I'll have a little something while I'm here....Barkeep, a rum and coke with extra lime please....thank you much. Got some groovin 70's on the CD player and it may only be 11 am but I feel like dancin'. Puttin' on my boogie shoes, anyone care to boogie oogie oogie to Stayin Alive?
Gosh, it's been awhile since I've been here. I sure do miss it.
I'm home today with sick kids which is not too fun, but thankfully it doesn't happen that often. Still up to my eyes in Girl Scout cookies, but sales are going good. I'm not sure if I expect too much from the girls when they're working the booths, but one of them I will not allow to participate if she doesn't change. She was only scheduled for 1 hour and every 5 minutes she complained that she was hungry, bored, didn't want to be there, etc. It drove me nuts!
I sure could use a good hot bubble bath tonight and an ice cold drink. That's not going to happen as I have other things to do.
Fortunity I can't play "whatch got" since you guys are really going through a lot. Good luck!

From earlier post, I'd have no problem with a picture of MichelleB in the magazine. I hope you submit an application for Parent Group of the Year. Did you know that at least one of our honorees (sometimes several) each year has been a PTA?
And on your feature story idea: I'm game. But I wouldn't be the sticking point.

P.S. I think the pic is of the author, Moira McCarthy, but I could be wrong.
Hi Debbie -
Thanks for helping with the article. Sorry for the spellings and more. I've sent this post over to our editor, too.
On the picture -- it's not the writer (I've met her, and that's not her...). I'm guessing it's a model that our photographer set up. For a story like the magazine story -- where it's about a concept more than a single group or a single volunteer -- we often use either what's called "stock photography" (where you can look through thousands of pre-existing pictures and buy rights to one(s) you like) or we have photographers set up shoots.
I spent a little time this afternoon calling parents from my 'I'm interested in membership' list. It was a pretty frustrating experience but I won't elaborate cuz I'm sure you guys know my sad song. I think the most frustrating issue is that in the last week I've come to realize that my VP may wind up being of little practical help on the business end of things. I am feeling pretty overwhelmed and every time I talk to her, I spend most of the time trying to steer the conversation in a relavent direction.
Well, my timer just went off. I got a gourmet meatloaf, honey butter sweet potatoes, garlic bread, and caesar salad to eat. The ghiardelli brownies are in the oven. I'm hoping I'll feel a little better after that, cuz right now I just feel irritated.
I will tell...but need to keep moving...I need to find parents to run for the Board!
I'll do it!! (volunteer tourette's syndrome, ask and I volunteer!)

I'd do the limbo but I'm nice and calm right now. I went to the Women's Expo today and got about 45 minutes of free back massages and lots of free goodies. It's so nice! I'll hold the stick!
