mykidsmom, you have my deepest sympathy on the death of your dishwasher. After last night's elaborate dinner, we filled the dishwasher and I still spent almost an hour washing stuff in the sink. My husband also decided as he was putting away the leftovers to clean out the fridge. I asked him if he wanted to see me just stay there washing dishes all night! I should have handed him the sponge!!
90 miles east of Omaha and 90 miles west of Des Moines!
OOOOHHH The hubby surprised me Sunday with a limo ride to downtown Denver to our favorite steakhouse for dinner! What a shocker! The kids were just too funny (never seen a limo up close!) and ecited for Mom!
I have a buddy in Chicago that is getting ready to purchase his brown stone he's been leasing for a few years! But I love my house yet it makes me sick when I know I could have 5 acres of land and a 5-6 bedroom house in small town Iowa! Oh well...Safeway is within walking distance instand of 5+ miles away!
aaagggghhhh back to dishes.....dishwasher died...funeral next week!
What part of Iowa are you headed to mykidsmom? I'm in southeast Iowa, so wave if you pass through!
For the meatloaf, I just shape it with my hands. A sculpter molding her beefy hunk of "clay"!
You can also make a heart shaped cake by baking one round layer and one square layer. Cut the round in half, place the square so it looks like a diamond, then put one half on each side of the top "point" of the diamond. Cover it with frosting and they never know it wasn't in a heart shaped pan!
Shawn, gotta love those California housing prices! Good luck on finding that country estate in Indiana!
I'll be there, other parts of Midwest and in Indy looking for houses this summer.
We just bought a condo ($250K) instead of a house for $600K.
Then we'll rent it or sell, prolly rent ($2250) that'll cover the mortage payment on 5 acre 5200sq ft house in Indy

Oh Shawn...I will think of you as I drive my 8-10 hours to Iowa to see green grass and big cows again this summer! The hubby's mom was from Germany and he would love to take us but air fare for 7 is a bit much and Iowa is attainable! Also the Grandparents are there SO gotta take the kiddos for ice cream and Grandpa's pizza!
I have a heart shaped pan! 3 actually! I have two of the Pamper Chef spring form and one cake pan that I got at WalMart. But Micheals had them.
I'm nervous, the hubby has all these plans for tomorrow night and won't spill a word! Nothing! This is SO like him! Then again, I got a new outfit for it!!
Wilton's has heart shaped pans. Check with your local Cake & Candy Supply or Wilton dealer.
On another note, my favorite places to visit are Italy or Grand Cayman.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
