OK, let's see if you can go three for three. Here's the latest:

A kitten adopted me Sunday night. No kidding. I was minding my own business, sitting in the McDonald's drive thru when I saw two teenagers dump a kitten in the ditch across the street. The scrawny little thing ran across the parking lot, stopped right in front of my car and started crying. Being the clever little animal that it is, it made sure to be far enough under the front bumper that I couldn't see it to pull forward. So, I got out to run it off. Instead, it ran towards me and started rubbing all over my ankle. I picked it up to move it out of the way and the rest is history. Except, well, we already have four fully grown cats - which is about 3 more than my husband wants. You can guess how mad he was when I walked in with it. He should've been the one at McDonald's because he is completely immune to feline charms.

OK, so I brought it in the house (it was 102 outside, I HAD to!), named it Mickey (from Mickey D's, ;) ), and have failed to follow through on my promise to call the local no-kill shelter. I suspect that when hubby gets back from his business trip tomorrow night, he's going to catch on pretty fast that the kitten is still here.

Oh, what to do........

I'm starting to see why I still have stacks of unpacked boxes. I have the time and the energy so it must be the lack of desire. My husband's co-worker transferred here the same time we did. He and his wife had the brilliant idea of just opening and dumping all of their boxes. Then they tore them down, bagged up the packing materials and called to movers to haul it all away. So, no more boxes - except now they have piles of STUFF everywhere. I can't wait to hear how that's working out for them.

Oh yeah, do you want to hear what happens to candles that spend a week inside a semi truck in 100+ degree temperatures?!? As well as all of the stuff that was in the boxes with them?!?!?!
