No fair Crew--someone needs to notify your new school about your "hidden" talents on PTO. you should be enjoying all this fun with us! It is not as much fun when you are in the back seat!

Gardening......my neighbors would think someone new moved in if i started working in my yard.

I change my mailbox and the flags on the house and mailbox and that is considered my yard work.

I wonder how many bagels and doughnuts it will take for 150ish folks. The good thing is that old folks usually eat early. :D

I was just mid-pity party, thinking that taking a year off was seriously boring and highly overrated. Until I just read the most recent posts. Now, ahhhhhhhh, it's back to the stack of books waiting - some of them over a year - to be read, the garden that is beginning to show off it's fall colors, and the bowl of Dove Promises with a lovely affirmation on each wrapper.

I am, however, anxiously awaiting an angry phone call from my dad. I sent him his hero Garrison Keillor's latest book, Homegrown Democrat. Dad's a proud and very, very far right Republican. I can't wait for that discussion!

Well, my day sucked! We have grandparents day tomorrow and sent out RSVP's. Well, we had 94 as of 8:45 this morning. Then the secretary in the office tells me that people have been calling all week and she didn't think to get their names, so now we are ESTIMATING about 150 or so. I specifically went to her and said, "if anyone happens to call, please write down their names, or at least keep a tallying of those calling, so we can judge the number coming." ARGH!!!!!

THEN our embroidery woman tells us that she ran out of yellow sweatshirts and can't get more, so the ones we ordered, she just did them in blue. NEVER called and told us she was doing that. She talked to the nice girl on PTO, so me (psycho) called her back and told her we aren't paying for them. She said she would hang them on the front door for us to pick up! It was "Air Honda" gettingto her shop.

THEN a parent calls to tell me that her child, in my child's class, has LICE! OMG!!! At that point I opened the bottle of wine that is a spare for emergencies. The really bad thing about this child getting lice is that she has siblings in 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades. So pretty much the whole school will be getting head checks tomorrow.

Shawn, i'll take 2 pina colada's, one for each hand, and a batch of brownie batter please!

Crewchief- wanted to let you know I am not T's long lost twin, but sounds like we could be from all that I'm trying to catch up on.

p.49: "Oh Brandi..... Looks like you've found your long lost twin! T - you and Brandi (PTOCES) will get along great!"

I'm not big on the multi-personality thing. ha-ha
That was a great guess though! (Seems I dropped off the face of the earth and along comes "T".) Not that way though!

wow have I been a busy lady!! I have been to one meeting after another. The county wants to place a jail in my town and I have been gathering the people.. got 100 down to the courthouse. I always said I am not political, but I am angry! They want to put a jail 1 mile from a high school and elementary school housing 1600 students. NUTS! They decided it wasn't a good idea once they saw how many opposed. PHEW!!!
Then, I showed up at my first "wellness" committee mtg. (didn't know it was open to ANYone until I read up on it.) My district has done a 16 page policy that is to the absolute EXTREME- you talked about vending machines.. they are gone EVEN in the TEACHERS loung. The teachers are Brown bagging their soda... becoming closet drinkers. Our policy states that no food sales are allowed on school grounds no matter what time of day- I showed up with a few PTO members and asked why we were not notified and if they were going to suppliment our budget since we can not do our ice cream social, trick or treat tailgate, pancake breakfast & lollipop sales. No school part5ies either. I'm going to the school board mtg. These peolpe are crazy. What are my rights? Isn't this crossing the line.
Pardon my RANT, BUT I"M FUELED!!!! Must have been the pepsi.

Ok, I'm going rant about PC's & Mac for a moment - please bear with me!

Why, in this day and age, can't someone who is writing a program make it compatible with a Mac? Its not like Macs are new machines for heavens sake! I'm at my wits end with my math class and the prof wanting to do progams via the internet. But guess what - you got it! I can't run the $(*#* thing because it wont/doesnt support a Mac and according to the plug in site - NEVER WILL!!!!!!!

I need chocolate and caffine right now!
