Congrats Scottsmom - glad to hear the carnival went so well. That isn't the easiest of events to run - so it's success say a lot about your commitment to it.

CrewCheif - Thanks. I know it's a shot in the dark about the song - but you know how it is.... get something stuck in your mind and thats it! ;)

We need more cows and coons scaring people on the border

I've been guestimating way off - about 4 billion too low on this

Illegal immigration costs the taxpayers of California — which has the highest number of illegal aliens nationwide — $10.5 billion a year for education, health care and incarceration, according to a study released yesterday.

A key finding of the report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said the state's already struggling kindergarten-through-12th-grade education system spends $7.7 billion a year on children of illegal aliens, who constitute 15 percent of the student body.

7.7 billion on 15 percent...

Hey LUV, how are ya turning out? I wanted to ask ya did the teacher forget they are in conservative Iowa??? You know, the whole Ramsey story is about as sensitive as Columbine here in Colorado.

Can't wait until spring....we started our third fundraiser Friday, closed the first one two weeks ago and just handed out merchandise. Haven't closed out the second one and parents are asking for the entertainment books. I just want to do a load of laundry! OH YEAH, the PTO secretary resigned, she's SHE'S overcommited! Most of all, I miss my dining room table.
This Thursday will be crazy. Pres and Wes each have a field trip AND I have to be present at school for the Globe Trotters! Won a contest I ddin't even know we had entered!

love the possum story! We always had cows lookinginto windows at Mom and Dads when I was a teen. Would scare the poop outta ya!

The carnival is finally over. The weather was extremely beautiful. The event was more of a success than it ever has been. I guess doing it 4 years finally pays off! Only a few glitches, messes, and hurt feelings. Generally a good family event. I am very tired but had to stay up because our event made the 10 o'clock news.
Also, I have no clue on the song.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Ok all - need anyone who has the knack for song lyric trivia. I can usually get most of the commercial songs - but this one has me stumped!

Who is or what is the song being played in the new LG flat screen TV commercial? I thought it was by the band Goldfrapp - but I haven't been able to confirm that. It's driving me crazy - I want the song, but just cant figure it out.

Shawn, you seem to have the knack for knowing lyrics :D . So here is part of a lyric from that commercial : "if I could stop the hands of time and try". I know, I know, not a lot to work with, but a girls gotta try! ;)

I've googled and ask.com and haven't been able to figure it out - so I thought I'd broaden the net with you all.

Shawn - love the redneck speek. Felt like I was back home in TN!
