Thank you guys.....I'm feeling a little better about the whole thing. You're right - at least she came to one of us.

A double batch of creamy chocolate fudge for the both of you!

T-I admire your ability to be able to overlook your personal feelings towards your ex and maintain a relationship with him so that you can be the best parents possible. I agree with CC--the info probably came out at a time she was with him and once she told a parent, it was out of her head. You are blessed to have a daughter who comes to either of you and talks about these kinds of situations. See it as a testimony to your excellent parenting skill that she knows she can come to either of you and you will work together to find a resolution. Big hugs!!!

Not sad at all T! Even if you take the "ex" out of the factor, it feels the same way when they go to the other parent. The most excellent thing is that your beautiful daughter knows she has two parents who love and care about her. And like most kids, she probably thinks her parents share a brain and whatever you tell one you've basically told the other. It's also an amazing testament to you and her dad's efforts to maintain an amicable relationship for the sake of your children. You're a blessing to your children.

Sounds like I need to break out the extra large saucepan and make a double batch of my famous hot cocoa with marshmallows and peppermint stir sticks. The recipe is so famous that you can find it on the side of the Hershey's Cocoa box. ;)

I was just about to congratulate myself for achieving the holy trinity of housekeeping when I saw that I'm caught up on laundry, dishes and grocery shopping - all at the same time! Then I thought about the vaccuuming, dusting, baking, decorating, etc... But I'm making progess!

Could someone please tell me why we get sooo wound up?

My day really started badly. My youngest has been have a personality conflict with a reading support teacher (she is a very high level reader and this is suppose to be helping her strech her comprehension of the text). He's really gruff and not her cup of tea, but she enjoys the class.
Here is the problem. Last week she was suppose to turn in homework. She did the work and had it in her backpack (I know this because I put it in the pack). She got to school, took it out (like she was suppose to ) - then the reading teacher didn't show up for whatever reason. The folder was left on the table and the day went on. The next day her suppl. reading class was held and she couldn't find the folder. Told this teacher and he sat her out of the group on the floor, at the table (beacuse he didn't belive she had done the work since she didn't have the folder). Now fast forward to Thurs for the 2nd supp. reading group. Folder with homework still hasn't been located (house has been turned upside down, so has her desk. Nowhere to be found). She tries to explain, but he basically tells her that it's up to her to prove she did the work  ! (This little piece of infor didn't come from her, but my ex. So I knew nothing of it until Sunday night. ) We finally find the folder - her teacher had accidently picked it up with other folders and put it with a stack of her stuff.

So after Sunday nights reveal (which by the way shocked to beegees out of me - she has always told me everything!) I went to talk to her teacher today. I'm in the middle of explaining the whole thing and then it happened. I started cyring!!!!!!!!! I couldn't even belive it! I was mortified. I really couldn't figure out why I was so upset. So I ploughed thru (bless her teacher. She just basically ignored the tears!) and we worked out a stratagey (sp?) and I left.

It took talking with my best friend to realize why I got so upset. I was upset because she went to her dad instead of me! How completely ridiculous is that. But, there it is. Sad, huh :(

Luv,
From someone who's at a school were parental support is less than .1%, I feel your pain. Talk to the principal, cancel a day, muddle through, or whatever you have to do. All will be fine. Kids will have fun and get a craft. You will be stressed, but it will be over before you know it. I would send out notes today or call some parents to try to get a bit more help, not that you have time for that while holding down the project, but maybe someone on site can help you get the word out you have to have more help. Just so you know, I have no voice today so if I were one of your parents I wouldn't be of much help either.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Thanks for the support friends. It's just a tough morning. Silver, I would love to say something to this mom, but the reason she isn't chair this year is because she started working at the school. She probably meant well(it is easier to handle one class at a time rather than 2 or 3) but it wasn't her call to make. We're just going to muddle through the best we can and move on.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
