Hi Ladies! Nice to see you!!!

T - My best friend's daughter started hitting rough spots around 5th grade. I worked in the school library and saw all k-8 students. The transformation girls go through during 5th grade was almost painful to watch. Boys seem to hit the same phase during 6th grade. Just remember that as painful and confusing as it is for you, it's 10x more so for her! You can do it. ;)

GaMom and T - you're both so inspiring with your dedication to pursuing your degrees. You're wonderful role models!

Oh, I just started with a new trainer today. I moved to a gym closer to home after I found out that our karate instructor is also a personal trainer. Aye yi yi. She's trying to KILL me! Not really. But I've never worked out so hard that I needed to puke before. I felt like those people on The Biggest Loser who cry through their session!

Hey guys - I'm around too. Just trying to get a little R&R before school kicks back in for me. I have been such a slug these last few days. New Years eve, I literally didn't get out of bed ALL day. Wasn't sick, tired or anything. Just lazy. Loved every moment of it :D ( don't do that very often). So I've been trying to play catch up with laundry, putting up decorations, etc.

GaMom - congrats on the progress! I'm not there yet. Meeting with a counselor next week to see where I'm at, then meeting with the state Univ. counselor to see what will transfer. Kinda nervous about it all!

hey - anyone with a tween girl (10-12 ish). When should I expect "that time" hit my house? My daughter (shes 10 1/2) has been soooooo nasty (ie: b*%$hy) for the last few weeks. Do I need to be mentally preparing myself? Or is it just the hormonal rages begining? I am about ready to go insane and take her with me!

T

Hey CC! I'm around--just regrouping from the holidays and getting back into the routine of school. I took the kids to school, came home and ws so depressed becuase they had to go back. I wish I were brave enough to try home schooling them. We had such a blast over the holidays playing games and just hanging out together. now I am working on making them math notebooks--just extra worksheets with math problems. My youngest is in a class with slow movers and I don't want him to be bored. My oldest is a turtle at math--he knows how to do it, but has to be just right about it, so he needs extra work to reinforce. And now that Christmas is over, so many teachers are starting to teach the CRCT. Going to school for teaching and seeing the "ideal" way things should be, and going to other schools and seeing how different schools do things has me really torn on my school lately. I see so many things that I love but also so many things that could be better, with a little enthusiasm or encouragement.

Silver--back before Christmas, I was involved in an involvement situation where I had really worked and worked on some non-involved teachers to be involved. They finally said yes to something, and when I excitedly told the president, I was told "I am not working with them". Talk about bursting my balloon. I went through a 2 week period of re-evaluating what I was doing, and those around me and the REAL priorities of everyone involved. If we hadn't of had a Christmas break, I think I would have imploded. I hope things get worked out. Focus on your priorities and be the change you want to see. And try that lemonade CC offered--it has gotten me thru several icky times.

on a lighter note--my school starts back next week! YIPPEE!! Only 2 more "book" semesters and the student teaching! yeah--i know it is a whole nother year of school, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

hey--i know a way to drag Shawn out
PELOSI is in the house! HAHAHA

CC - The woods in these parts seem to be full of snipers lately ... mean ... crazy ones. (Hmm … I haven’t heard the helicopters lately) Funny how no matter how far away you stay from a situation you can still get frustrated no matter what.
Started a new book today; enjoyed Obama & feel I am more informed but it’s time for a change. Not one for self-improvement style books but I heard some good things about The Four Agreements (based on Toltec wisdom) so I figured why not – I could use a little wisdom lately. Comments on the book before I start anyone? Am I about to be brain washed?
Beverage in hand, brownies in the oven (which will be accompanied by ice cream, hot fudge & whipped cream) & off to the new season of primetime! TGIF!

Silver, I don't know what's going on in your neck of the woods but it doesn't sound very fun! Sounds like a few kids need to be dragged into a room by their ears and made to sit down and make nice.

Until that happens, here's a some Elecric Lemonade. It's Shawn's secret weapon!

Where is Shawn these days anyway? I hope everything is OK on the homefront. It's too quiet around here without him!!!

Organization - that would require me to actually use & label the filing cabinets/folders I have and chances are once I use them I wouldn't be able to find anything becasue I have been using the 'my way' of filing (piles) for so long.

Still in a funk today after the past couple of days thumping my head against a wall. I tell you this situation has really knocked the wind out of me this time.
Going for a day at the spa this weekend (emergancy call into them last night) so I just have to make it until Sat morning.
