CHEERS TO THE VOLUNTEERS!!!

Your party sounds like a fun time. I think it's so important to do little things like that for those parents who put forth the effort to be involved in their child's school. Lets them know how much you(the officers/chairpeople) appreciate their efforts. That can go a long way to keeping current volunteers and drawing in new ones.

LUVMYKIDS,
Thanks for the bottle-- it's going to be a tough few weeks coming up--
We're going to have an ornament exchange/get together and de-stress the week after Santa Shop ends-- Can't wait-- we meet after school starts at someone's house, have coffee, donuts, breakfast treats and chat about anything--- Christmas gifts, kids, etc... then we draw numbers to see who picks the first wrapped box--- and so on.... we have a good time and go away with a new coffee mug and nice ornament for the tree-- this year it will be at my house and I am inviting everyone that volunteered to help at our Santa Shop.

We also asked for help sorting our little Ceasars kits when parents showed up 1:00pm for pick-up when pick-up was scheduled for 3:30 and the truck had just arrived-- she just said she'd come back later-- must take some guts to turn around and walk away from only 1 parent unloading a whole truck by herself---

Here's a toast to all the volunteers that step up and help out!

Here's one big bottle of tequila for Foxmom! You know our dedicated group of regular volunteers used to go get a drink or have a meal after a big event--big stress reliever.

d, I am so with you on the early arrivals-what is with that?? I did get a good one in during our fall fundraiser: This mom showed up 30 minutes early for pick-up, I just smiled sweetly at her and told her we weren't ready yet, but she was welcome to come in and give us a hand with the preparations. Her mouth dropped open and she was speechless. She did help though! I did that a couple of times back at the elementary too. Just kind of made a general announcement to the people in line that we could use some help. It's amazing how good some people are at avoiding eye contact!

You know CC, part of the reason my aunt was special was that she never had children of her own, so her nieces and nephews were her kids. My sister and I always loved to go to her house to play with her cats. When I got older and was working in her town but living out of town, her house was a place to stay if the weather was bad or I was just too tired to drive home at night. She suffered from mental illness too and after my grandfather died, she went off the deep end and severed all ties with the family. It was a rough couple of years, but stubborn Irish/German that I am, I never stopped sending cards on birthdays and Christmas and finally one holiday season just called her. She chatted for a bit and then gave the obligatory "You'll have to stop by sometime." I told her I'd be there in 10 minutes. That reunion started the ball rolling on getting her back to us. It was a struggle that taught my whole family lessons on forgiveness, unconditional love, and never giving up on the things that SHOULD be important to us. She was gift sent to teach us so much about getting through life.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We just finished our Movie night. 330 folks came in. It was scheduled to open by 6:15 and the first people came at 5:30. What is WRONG with people. It was so cold outside we couldn't leave them standing outside. Crazy. So trust me. The stuff in my wine glass is NOT virtual.

Here's to ya....

I saw this list and thought that is ridiculous that stores that have filed or know that they will be closing are still selling gift cards--- and the list is long----

After a long week of school ending with 1/2 days and conferences-- 1 will need a whole bottle.
Now we have only 2 days next week and then it's thanksgiving-- then onto the Nightmare and Amaze that is Santa's Workshop--- It's 2 days of crazy set-up, late nights, and Christmas Songs-- then 4 days of 600+ kids coming in to shop and circling the tables 20 times each until they come back to the 1st thing they looked at and 1 night of family shopping with young siblings crying for what their wanting and asking if we have any more of the hottest toy we sold this year left on the last night of shopping our event!
And finally spending 3 hours doing inventory and packing up what's left for next years Workshop, then going out to shop for my own gifts....

I CAN"T WAIT FOR IT TO START!!!!!!!
