D-your cards sound great. I remember my 2nd grade Mother's Day card was a piece of paper folded in half with some message on the front like thanks for being my mom and on the inside was a flower pot and the flowers could be pulled out and the stems said something nice on them like you make the best pancakes or I like it when you put curls in my hair. My mom says she looks at it every year.
I'm almost done with my cakes. My oldest was so excited to find out one of the cakes was for his class tomorrow because no one organizes treats and they always get a bunch of cupcakes. (Trust me, I've tried getting our parents together but they don't seem to understand committing to send something that there won't already be 10 of.) He made some comment about King Cakes being the only reason to look forward to Lent.
On another note, my husband and I listen to oldies all the time so I found one of the Hallmark cards that plays music and it plays...well, I can't remember right now, but something that was probably playing when our parents were very little!. :) For some reason I'm tired, maybe it's because it's after 1 am, so I guess I better head to bed.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

d - that's so sweet. Candy is a momentary happiness but they'll be showing those cards to their kids someday!!!

Shawn, you rock. Way to fight the system.

I wish my son was still little sometimes. I loved making treat bags for the school parties.

No denying it now that the "Shortie" is taller than me. We had a picture taken tonight with us side by side and he was a full 4 inches taller than me.... and he's only 13! I'm 5'5". He's bound to be taller than his 6'2" dad if he keeps up this pace.

Just finished the valentine's for all the boys (and the man). Little hearts on a paper they open and each heart says "I love" (think Advent Calendar here) and when they open it up underneath is something I love about them all. Each one gets six little notes (hey--that's 30 and by then just cutting out the little windows was getting old) but I'm excited that they get to open and read them aloud to us all at the dinner table tomorrow night. There just stupid stuff like "I love" "how your hair looks after you shower" or "how you curl up on my lap and lay your head on my shoulder". I hope they love it though...I suspect they'll be mad they didn't get candy :)....

Oh, Shawn, you are definately a man I want on my side.

Off to make Valentines treats, a King Cake for my Rel. Ed. class, and nurse my sick husband (is there anything worse in the world? :) ).

HAPPY EARLY VALENTINES DAY! OR EARLY HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Whichever one is correct!

I wish you all a dozen roses, boxes of chocolate (only the special boxes with no calories) and as many kisses as you can handle! :)

I'm baking cookies for the classes, and stuffing treat bags. It seems like I just did this for Christmas.

Way to go Shawn!
