Wonder if any of the parents here with girls see any of the queen bee stuff going on in the girl scouts (I guess its princess bee).
Around here, some of the same girlie cliques operate in the classroom and playground, as in the scouts - its really amazing the overlap.
The adult queen bees, were probably already buzzing and making thier hive, when they were younger.
Tough going these days to be a girl. Its way too compoetitivie and for all the wrong reasons.
Prevalent? In my life, yes. I think women's issues used to just be treated with an eye roll, a head shake and a "Women!" But women and how they relate to each other has really been a mystery. As more of us emerge into previously male dominated areas, our relationships and what we bring to a team (both positive and negative) are important areas to study.
I haven't had much time to read more of Queen Bee Mom's so I'm anxious to get back to it.

Ha--glad it went so well CC...the tool box really was a terrific idea...Crying Karate instructor..yeah-I'm thinking no...welcome to the cold side of town...d
Goodness sakes, it's been a busy week. I can't believe it went from 71 degrees to 17 degrees in 5 days. No wonder everyone around town is grouchy.
Mmmmm, Silver, you can't go wrong with either frosting choice!
ScottMom, aren't Peeps the best?!?! I love them.
I'm exhausted. My friend is moving to her new building this week (one she owns, not rents!!!) and the finish work nearly killed us. I spent the week helping her paint, clean, move, etc. She is also my karate instructor and my trainer so you'd think she would've taken it easy on my, knowing how hard I've been working on the building. But, noooooo. No mercy. I tried to threaten her and told her if she worked my arms too hard then I wouldn't be able to paint. She called my bluff. Oh, and she loved, loved, loved the toolbox. She didn't cry or anything because she isn't that kind of girl. But, woweee, she LOVED it. I think we've used nearly every tool in there this week too. Especially the stud finder. All the workmen coming in and out didn't really know what we were up to but they figured it was no good. Sadly, most of them failed the test. A few though..... ding, ding, ding. (OK, paint fumes have gone to my brain. I'll stop now)

Had to get out...took the boys to Monticello...by golly they were going to learn SOMETHING this week if it killed me. Oldest is doing a report on Jefferson so it was well worth the trip--plus that drive is just wonderful. Home again and I'm drinking that coffee..thanks...d
