I just seen an advertisement for a new 12 week program on National Geographic. I think its called Earth. They say it took them 5 years to finish and from the clips I seen it looks very interresting if you like wildlife and geography. I am not sure when the series starts or if it has already but it looks like a great family event each week.

Glad to hear everyone got through all the rough weather okay. It was just really cold and windy here Th-Sa. We were kind of nervous with snow blowing around that it would get bad and we'd have to cancel our carnival, but the sun came out later and although it was pretty cold it didn't seem so bad. My daughter's honors orchestra event got cancelled because it was further north and they were getting some major snow.

I'm so ready for all this wacky weather to end. I think it will soon because my crocus and iris are popping up.

We get really tired of the same old stuff too. We've started watching more History channel and we love Mythbusters.

Scotts--I do that too! Especially with TBS when they will show a movie every night for a couple of days. And I watch the DUMBEST movies ever, over and over and over. One of my fav's is legally blonde. It drives my hubby crazy, but I just like movies that are not serious and are no brainers. What does that say about me?

Hubby however watches ever single episode of Cops that comes on. ARGH. I mean every show is the same almost--a couple og druggies, a wife beater, some half dressed woman, GEEZ. Then he flips to Seinfeld episodes that he knows by heart. At least that is better than Cops.

ScottsMom - for us its not so much seeing movies over and over its all the versions of Law and Order. We love the show/s but it gets pretty bad when you have seen the reruns over 3 times. Typically its our 'go to' when we can't find anything else that interests us - which is pretty frequent.
Hey guess what ... its snowing again ... SURPRISE! ~ not. Good thing I braved the weather yesterday otherwise we would be down to crumbs. When will this weather pattern end!!!!!!! Just had to vent for a moment. Gotta run ... one of the kids is having a sick moment ... yuck.

CC-When I was 10, we had a freak middle of the day in November tornado. It was so crazy. Our school had a huge basement and the sirens went off close to the end of the school day and lots of parents showed up to sit with their children. We lived by an airport by the river and it seemed to be a hot bed for tornado touchdowns for about 3 years. I saw lots of them from the roof of our house-it was so old I was probably safer outside anyway.
We had crazy weather here, too. Wednesday it was absolutely beautiful and about 6pm these huge fluffy clouds just surrounded about 2/3 of the city. It looked like the marshmallow factory had blown up or something. By 8 it was raining and tornados were within 30 miles of us. It was really weird to watch the weather report because it included thunderstorms, tornados, and snow storms! The snow rolled in around 5 am and hung out for a few hours and then it was horribly windy and cold.
Vegas-that sounds like a darn good idea to me. Tomorrow I'm doing kickoffs for the music department fundraiser all day (ugh) through music class so instructional time doesn't get interputted and Saturday we are having an AtHome America show at my house, which is nowhere near clean. For those of you who have multitudes of cable channels, do you find yourself watching the same movie or handful of movies over and over again for no reason other than they are on? I swear I have seen Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire about 10 times this week-like it's always in the background. I even caught myself looking for it tonight...Thank God it was on or I might have had to dig out the DVD!!!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Oh, GaMom, I'm so, so glad to hear that your sister was able to find shelter and make it out OK. What a blessing that is. I hope, too, that your parents are OK.
