<a OK> thanks for the listen. I do agree that a survey can have a postive impact on communication for any parent group. Parents who truly don't have a lot of time to devote to the HSA but want some input are always grateful to know that their input was presented and are thankful for the opportunity to have a voice even if they can't always be in the school.

oh my i hope no one uses suggestions to sling mud, i should think it be constructive inputs you get. i didnt think of bad inputs,was more focused on timely inputs and even positive suggestions sometimes folks dont like to have their name attached.
but absolutely, negative feeback given in anonymous fashion must alwasy be discounted becuase of the method in which its given, one cant go to the source to get verification and follow up!!!

Hi all, I was reading some posts when I came across the "end of year survey" and it peaked my interest. Our school has done them and they do have some useful info. I am amazed at how many parents will reach out to our HSA after they see that they do have a voice. Cape Dad you are right if you ask them you need to follow thru on what can be done. I was also amused to see the reference to a "clique". As a great PTO man once said "if people think you are a clique, you are" this is so hard to shake for any parent group. Our only recourse is to always have our meetings open and welcoming. As an active school and HSA parent I do not like the idea of a suggestion box that is anonymous. I think as adults we need to own our words. You owe it to your children to be a productive part of thier education process. Any suggestion box that had your name means you can get a reply or action but either way you are heard. I think there is far too easy to sling mud at someone or someones ideas if you have don't have to answer for it.
Just my thoughts.

nothing is better than learning. thats why its so fun haveing kids in school we are pushed to learn even more than we knew we needed to know. corporate life was a breeze compared to the learning curve of parenthoood and school memebrship!!!!
