I do our PTO website. It's actually part of our school website, which is on the district server.

cardsfan,

The newsletters available on our site are a copy of what we send home.

Our newsletter goes home monthly. It goes home with the students on the Friday before the Monday night PTO meeting. It serves as a reminder as well as getting information out. We have opted to do both (website & paper newsletter) since our population is so diverse! We have plenty of parents who are 'site savvy as well as those who don't have internet access.

I try to keep the site as current as possible. I attempt to go on at least once a week and look at what I have on there. I try to add/move/update something each time I go on to have something there for people to stay interested. There's nothing worse than going to a website and seeing last years info still on there!!!

Good luck with it all.

We post ours and send it out and include a copy in our Kindercats registration packets. We use Bravenet.com which is about 85 dollars a month. We make up that money by selling ad space in the newsletter (as you may note on the back pages. I'm very excited that our April issue will feature our "Little Prints" insert. This is a two sided page done completely by the children in the school. I'm interested to see what all they've put in it but they did interviews etc.
We update our site about weekly given the emails I send out. Our webmaster pulls the important information and posts it. She's very good. We also have a ticker tape that runs across the top for important info like winners of spirit nights, school closures etc. Her skills have been a huge asset...!

Good luck...d

Thank you so much for all your replies. I had a lot of fun going on everyones' websites. I wish I knew how to develope a webpage. Sad to say, I have to ask my son how to do it! How often do you update your sites? Also, I notice some have newsletters to go with your websites. Do you send those home with the kids or just have them available at the school? How often do you send those out? Are you finding that both are necessary or would either source be sufficient? We are wondering if we get the webpage would that cut back on the newsletters? Our School does not have their own webpage yet, we only have a district website. This would be new for everyone. We might need to continue the newsletters until everyone gets use to the website.

Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions.
