I do our website. Very easy and free and I'm not a genius or anything...but yes, KEEP IT UPDATED or you might as well not even begin it!

We got lucky and one of our board member's 16 year old son is a computer whiz. He got up a beautiful website for us for free. And he regulary updates it. But if you need to hire an outside company to do a website, you should not pay more than a few hundred dollars. And they're are easy web updating software programs available to help update and maintain the website.

Sometimes our local library has classes on starting a website. Also the adult education branch of the university. Cheap, small classes, friendly. Of course, a note in the school newsletter asking for help might be a good way to go. Even super-tech savvy teenagers might know how to do it right.

I used Yahoo. I did it myself. I really didn't know what I was doing but could do enough to keep it updated. I didn't know how to add pages. I finally just handed it over to the new pres so she could find someone. Last I heard our cirric cooridinator was starting one through our district server. That would probably be easier than Yahoo.

You could find someone in your community that is computer savvy and have a workshop over it.

Find a parent in your group that knows what they are doing and do it right. Starting one an not keeping it updated or it's ease of use is the worst thing you can do as no one will return.
