For our concession stand we always serve hot dogs, chili dogs, walking tacos, pizza and pepperoni rolls. We also feature a real home cooked meal. These are the different features: BBQ pork sandwiches, Hot sausage sandwiches with onion and peppers, pierogies and kelbasa, meatball sandwiches. homemade soups(wedding, potato, or chicken noodle). Another feature is hallushki with kelbasa. It takes a little prep work, but it is worth it. Our fans and athletes look forward to eatting at the soccer games now. I am always getting calls and e-mails, "what's for dinner tonight". Hope this helps. My trck is to made veryl large quantities at one time and freeze them into smaller proportions.
I have a brand new way to sell soft, hot pretzels. Either full size or the pretzel bites will work. Warm the pretzel. Take a can of cheap frosting, I use vanilla but any flavor will do. Mix frosting with a bit of water till it is thin enough to put in a squirt bottle. Drizzle frosting over pretzel & sprinkle with colored jimmies. Frosting should be thick like a toaster strudel. I purchased blue & gold jimmies (our school colors) from a baking supply store & mixed them together. Large pretzels I serve on a paper plate & sell for $1.50. I sell (12) Pretzel Bites in a Small Nacho Tray I put extra frosting in the cheese part & sell for $2.00.
Kids love them. It is a good idea to make a sample to put on the counter as a display. Don't heat it. They look pretty.
You can reheat the bottled frosting in hot water or the microwave 5 to 10 seconds at a time till it is thin enough to drizzle again. I would not try to make scratch frosting the canned is shelf stable. I would worry about the butter.
I work at a county park & high school concession stand & I own a printing company. I made signs that show how the pretzels / pretzel bites look. I can sell you the signs & I can design full color menu signs for anyone interested. I make letter size full color signs for any specials I am running. I can custom design anything you want. I can send sampes if you would like.

I run the concession for our youth football program. Talking about hot dogs...we will grill our dogs on the George Foreman, about 25 at a time and wrap them in foil and place them in our pizza warmer...it's easy and quick....and the folks love them. We also do BBQ's, Pizza, Taco's in a Bag, Nachos...with cheese or load them up with meat and whatever else they want on them. We sell a few chicken sandwiches (buy the patties at Sam's) and hot wings...which is a big hit. This year I also want to mix it up and hav gotten some ideas from this blog! We did french fries, cheese fries and chili and cheese fries...we can't keep up with the order and have folks waiting forever it seems for them. Also a good sell is Cheese sticks...again buying them from Sam's.
Our church does about 3 concession stands throughout the summer at various events and we've always had Johnsonville Brats, hotdogs, assorted individual chips, sodas and water. We purchased a big "event grill" at Sam's and it works great. It takes 2 propane tanks and has 8 burners that you can use for all sorts of cooking. We use big kettles to cook the brats and hotdogs and then put the meat on the grill right before serving. You could use the same principle with any sort of food - ex: chili, sloppy joe mix, taco meat, corn on the cob, etc... Good luck!
My husband and I are looking into opening a concession stand this fall for an adult softball league. Thank you so much for all of the great ideas! BTW, those pickle pops sell like crazy at my boy's games! They are made with the dill pickle juice and sell for 25 cents for a small 1 oz container.
I do have a questions about hotdogs. Has anyone tried cooking them on a table top grill, like a George Foreman. The stand we will be working has not kitchen equipment available so we have to get creative with hot foods. Thanks!
sooo with the pickle pops..is it dill pickle juice or sweet pickle juice?? both sound rather unappealing to me but if they are that big of a hit every where else this might be worth a try for my movie night concession stand
