Michigan MEAP [WHAT DOES THIS STAND FOR? DON’T ASSUME PEOPLE KNOW. WRITE THE WHOLE THING OUT ](STATEWIDE) tests for elementary grades 3-5 will commence from October 3 though October 21, 2005. These tests are necessary but grueling for our kids. Eastside PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION wants to provide our students (240) with a nutritious snack prior to their testing period for 8 school days. We have determined the cost to be anywhere from $ $30 to $60 per day.

We would love it if your would be able to sponsor a MEAP day. You can do this by making a donation to our PTO or by providing an individually packaged snack for 240 students. Our staff, parents and especially our students would greatly appreciate your generosity.

All monetary donations can be sent directly to the school, attention: PTA president, address.

If your company is able to donate 240 individually packaged snacks, please call me at (my home telephone number) to schedule pick up.

I would like new wording ideas, too. Please post your text here in the message boards.

We send out requests speific to events that benefit our children. We always use PTO letterhead, and choose to include our tax exempt number since business can't depend on volunteers mailing thank you notes that include the number.
Does anyone see a possible issue with that?

Eastside PTO will provide 240 elementary students with a healthy snack prior to their testing period for 8 school days, and then 2 extra days of Science testing for the 5th grade (100 students). The cost is approximately $30.00 - $60.00/day. If your business is able to sponsor a MEAP day, or provide an individually packaged snack for 240 students, we would appreciate your donation.

If you are able to make a donation at this time, please have a check sent to:
