We do a "Redskin Run" (redskins are our mascot) every year and it's our most successful fundraiser. We do it kind of like a marathon. The kids get pledge money from family/friends etc. parents pay $1 to give "shout outs" and we get sponsors to sponsor the cost of the run. They also go on the back of our shirts. Each grade gets 15 mins to walk, run, skip the track. Grade with most money raised gets a trophy, grade with most laps gets a trophy, and one grade gets most spirited. The kids love it! We do it in May. Any questions fell free to ask me I'm an open book.
We are hosting the Spearman Color Splash and Dash 5K presented by Brookestone Tennis at our elementary school in March. You may not want any tops until we see how smoothly it goes. The registration fees for the fun run pretty much cover the cost of the race. We have brought in almost $4500 in sponsors that will pretty much be straight profit. It's not a timed race. Just a fun run promoting health and happiness for families within our community. The runners will get a race t-shirt, sunglasses to protect their eyes and a sweatband. We will have a DJ DANCE party at the finish line. It's shaping up to be a fun time!
Also, you can find lots of general info on color runs from a Google search. I can post a question to our Facebook community to see if anyone there has any expert tips.
Has anyone ever hosted a 5K color run fundraiser? At our school we have a running club so all the kids are really excited about running, so i thought hosting a 5K color run would be a neat thing at our Spring Festival. If anyone has hosted one I need help on where to begin and what to do? Thanks!!
