We have lots of Fun Run files on our File Exchange, which you can download and tailor to your school. There's a letter to parents that explains the goals of the fundraiser that you might be able to tweak and gear towards local businesses. Does anyone have an example of a letter they sent out to local businesses to get sponsorship for a fun-run type event? We piggy-back on a larger community hosted event and would like to have businesses sponsor our school's team.
We are getting ready to do a Fun Run at our school. We make marathon numbers for the kids on thermal labels and put them on their backs. Everybody gets a snack (usually fruit snacks) and a bottle of water after they run. We give everybody I'm a winner medals too. The kids love it. The hardest part is getting it organized and the paperwork done. We hand out registration forms first and whoever registers gets a pledge form. Then they get get pledges and bring their form to the run. We write down how many laps they ran and give the pledge form back with an envelope to collect their donations. Everybody that collects $25 or more in pledges gets put in a drawing for a $100 gift card and the class that collects the most gets a pizza party.
