Scooby - do NOT give up on the principal telling you it's her word against your son's. Even if it is - who says that her word gets more weight? Keep going or it may not stop.

As for the PTO presidency, those of us around this board long enough know that you have been a great pres in the past and would be again in the future. You have the best interest of the kids in mind and that's what the kids need. If the principal wants you to run, then he/she should be in a position to have the teachers show up at least on election night and get this done. Not that I would advocate being "sneaky" but do your bylaws allow for "write in" votes or nominations on the day of elections - I know, I know, it's sounding like an ambush, but it would keep them from calling everyone on that list again. Just a thought.

scooby. I am glad that your husband talked to the school. Your school owes it to you & your children, every child for that matter to check into this more... The lady really has it out for you. Don't give up your school needs you, get some new parents to come & vote. Maybe you can find a whole new board!! I would write a letter reguarding the lady touching your son to the school board!!! goos luck

Oh Scooby - I know exactly where you are coming from. I have a similar situation and this lady is not even a registered PTO member, she's only a school volunteer. My problem is that she speaks only Spanish. I am the only board member who isn't bilingual (unless you count cus words or ordering food). I had two board members who tell me everything she says about me, regardless of how small it is. They've always done this on their own - I've never asked for them to "spy" or anything. In all cases I kept a diary of who told me and what what was said. Time and date of occurance and time and date of when it was told to me. I have always given a copy to both our Principals. One day the lady really had it out for me and when I was told to meet them in the office, the proof was there and on my side. I say go to the superintendant if you can't get anywhere with the Principals, especially since they say it's a your word / their word situation. I sure could use someone like you in our school next year. We had people sign up to be on the ballot for next year's executive board and we had no takers - I won't be here next year and will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Well, my husband went in and had a talk with the principal. He said he can't do anything because no one else saw it and if they did hasn't said anything. Basically he said it is her word against my son's. She of course is denying everything. She said she has been extra nice to my kids because she doesn't want to start anything with me. Thats what she at least told the principal.I died when I heard that!! I wish I could have went. He wants me to come in and talk to him. The thing now is the fact that he now wants me to run for PTO president against this woman!! I have no idea if I even have a shot at it. Parents I do talk to say that she is bossy and they don't want her in the PTO. The problem is that no one comes to the meetings because of current PTO board. They have the elections during the PTO meeting. In fact no one cares any more. They get no volunteers for anything and when they do, this woman treats them like children and won't really let them help. They don't even care about elections because of the stuff that happened last year. As of right now the teachers don't even want to vote because of the bull@#$%this woman has caused. Last year,she gave a not nice woman our only phone list, that I as secretary should have had, and called people and told them not to vote for me and made up stories.Then this not nice woman that called got herself on the election committee and sat there at the voting table, where I might add, there was no privacy to vote. This woman and the woman I ran against sat not 10 feet from the table and asked people to vote for her. I am about ready to give up myself. I am thinking I am gonna call the school board about the situation with my son.

Now my question is what if the background check has been done and she was fine but just has it out for Scooby? What do you do when the people that are suppose to help don't- you kick it up a notch (sorry Emeril) and show these people you won't be "messed" with!
Scooby may just the the "pick of the year" what about next year if this person isn't stopped NOW!

WHOA! I can not believe she's getting away with such behavior! This woman should lose her job! Yes! Take off the gloves and go all the way. NO EXCUSES for such behavior should be tolerated. NONE! Good Luck! And Please keep us posted!
