In our K-12 school we have a zero tolerance policy that has worked well. A few families have even taken the "bully" to court on assult charges with the support of our local officer that the town has assigned to our school.
Last year my daughter was attacked from behind during class. The classmate and her had been sharing a verbal....not very ladylike...confertation and my daughter being 5'7" and big girl was not afraid of this 5' girl. Well, in the end the other gal jabbed my daughter in the back/shoulder blade with a Sharpie marker! The gal was suspended for three days in school (no one could watch her or pick her up so the school chose in school) and yeah my daughter was repremanded for her use of words. We were instructed if she would have been moreserious injuries we could have filed charges. Just like that.
Maybe law enforcement need to come in and talk to these kids. Not to just scare the crap outta them but wake them up. Have any of you seen the new McGruff the dog ads on TV? He has a new ad how to help kids help each other handle bullies.
I was bullied too but almost the worst kind, I went to school with several cousins and rarly did my Aunts help in anyway! Nor woud the school because we are family! Funny story, one cousin finally got to the end of the line and I gave her a left hook breaking her glasses and a nice shiner! My Mom and Dad weren't happy but knew I had had it! My Aunt finally apologized! The best...the bus driver looked the other way! Okay, today, he should have reported it but he knew we would resovle the issue. My cousin is now in jail for shoplifting and drugs, and I still have a mean "lefty"
I'm kidding!!!!!!
