Question: Donation receipt for furniture donated?

We redecorated the teacher's lounge and asked for donations from the community. Someone is asking for a donation receipt. Am I authorized to give a donation receipt. We are a Public Charity 509(a)(2) and did receive our 501(c)(3) exemption status. Just want to make sure we are able to do that. Thank you!
