Question: Free Clip Art to be used as our organization logo

Hello, Is anyone here familiar with "Copyright Law" and/or "Royalty-Free" clip arts issues? One of our members found this cute "FREE" clip art on Y**** web site. I attempted to contact several people whose web threads that were attached to this clip art to ask if any of them is the owner and if we could be granted a permission to use this clip art as our organization logo but NO responses. Am I making too much out of this matter since there is no notation attached/can be found to/on this clip art? Please help!

It's difficult to give you direction on this because sites have different rules for clip art. Clip art doesn't necessarily mean it is free. Even the term "royalty-free'' doesn't mean it is "free.'' If you wanted to get in touch directly with us, we can try to help you a little more.
