We had luck before waiting in line for the best Black Friday deals, it was the Target ad TV. I think it was 150.00 for a 600.00 TV. PTO repaid me and it sold for a nice profit.

Also may try to put premade class treat bags for parties (Christmas, Valentines, Halloween). I usually hit Target and Walmart for their 75-90% off after holiday sales. Get all I need and auction off a set of say 25 as ready done treat bags :) Nothing edible of course. Example last Halloween I got pumpkin pails for .10 cent each I got 20 and they are going to my childs class this year. Stored in my attic. Putting goodie bags in them, spider rings, pencils, etc....

I've gotten Disney tickets the past 5 years and I have heard from them in less than a week with confirmation every year. If you haven't heard from them, I would think your application might have been missing something.

I am also located in Charlotte nc area (Huntersville) and I would be interested in exchanging ideas/suggestons regarding my experience securing times for our silent auction. Our Holiday Bazaar will be held on Sat., Nov. 21, and we are working hard to come up with enough to have another successful bazaar. We are a church and sometimes find that religious organizations are exempt. It's hard to convey the idea that we use our proceeds to help others - and we do not consider religious affiliation race nor gender when making decision regarding donations we make to individuals/families in our area who are in need of help.

Hi Dolly Jane,
I don't have many ideas on how to obtain items for a church, but I believe the best way may be to contact small businesses. When I had to collect raffle items for a school, I contacted many small businesses - yarn shops, bakeries, yoga studios - they were very willing to help.
