As always, thank you for the wonderful ideas here. I have to say I'm starting to panic because our event is 3/15 but just heard today from American Girl and they are donating!!!!! Also, we have a new Zip Line company in some of our state parks, they are very willing to donate as a "neighbor of the community". Just thought I would pass that info along; if you have one near you, reach out to them!
Still waiting to hear back from Atlantis in Reno.....we received southwest tickets and no place to go Any tips for Atlantis or any other hotel would be greatly appreciated.
need advice on how you do thank you letters...
For the corporate donations (MLB, NHL, Disney) should you send a thank you letter/receipt? For the smaller and local donors, do you send them as soon as you get an item or after the auction?
Footsoul - Hang in there... it takes a little time for them to start rolling in, but they will. Frequently they just show up, without any warning. I did my first auction when my child was young, and it is tough! Have you sent something out to parents at school asking for donations? Keep combing the Ultimate Donation list for ideas. I really work on contacting museums in a 3 hour radius for ticket donations and that has worked well for us. For our school, about 1/2 the money raised comes from teacher/school experiences and the class art projects. We auction things like the closest parking space to the school, Prinicpal for a Day, ice cream with a teacher, lunch with your teacher in their room, etc. They cost little, if anything and you can get a lot of return! Good luck!
its called patience unfortunately. I sent out requests end of Dec and middle of Jan and i'm still waiting to hear from some. I just want an answer right away
But hang in there and good luck.
