jrecksiek - I only received a donation from STOMP once a few years ago. We're located on Long Island a reasonable driving distance from the city. I looked up the information on google and/or called their office. Then I sent them a letter. Haven't had luck yet with Broadway shoes….my guess is to start early and contact the corporate office (not the box office). Good luck.
Can anyone provide any advice on how to obtain donations for the NYC Broadway shows? I have tried several different options, but none have proved effective. If anyone has any contact info that they would be willing to share, it would be greatly appreciated.
We got Amtrak in Charlotte, NC.... also $50. I see this more as a coupon than anything else. We packaged ours up with some stuff from AAA and a local travel type store. Not sure the $50 for Amtrak helped increase the bid higher than the value of the roadside kit and $25 gift card from Sharon Luggage.
For those of you who received donations from Amtrack, is there something 'special' about your event or location?
I'll try Amtrack for next years' event as ours is less than 3-weeks away.
And here's an idea to pass along…Consider asking a mall directly (their office) for a gift card vs. "only" approaching select stores/restaurants in those locations. Just a thought. Curious if that will produce results.
I've also "added" to my in-hand donations by forcing myself to call businesses that have donated in the past but hadn't responded this year. Sometimes the paperwork or email just got lost, forgotten, etc. Wasn't always easy to make the phone calls, but it yielded some extra donations that we were "counting on."
