I just got a "no" from Otterbox and I had waited a long time (a month or so) for it since their initial response saying "Your request will be processed in a timely manner and you should expect to hear back from us within 2-3 weeks" but mistakenly I took that as a "yes".
Other recent "no" responses I've gotten are Filson, Vitamix, Bob's Red Mill, Bare Essentials, As Seen On TV, Fellowes, and all of the Bidding For Good companies. I'm not bothering with those anymore.
Hi crusader!
It sounds like you are doing everything you can. We so often hear of groups getting a flurry of donations right before their event! These last-minute arrivals can cause so much stress! But hang in there. It sounds like you've worked so hard and it will all come together!
crusader, I feel the same way! I have a team of 4 people doing our entire auction. This is like a 20 hour a week part time job and no one seems to want to pitch in.
Like you, we haven't heard from Ben & Jerry, minted, Thinkful Games, Otterbox, Sports Authority and Pentel. Also waiting on American Licorice and Ghirardelli (both are local), Panera, Sprinkles, Nintendo, Alex & Ani, Karen Foster, Oriental Trading Co, Sephora, and a ton of local businesses.
It is hard to get help. Some items just come at the last minute. Unless their website says their donation program is closed, I'd assume they are donating. Otterbox sent us something after our event last year so we got it too late. I haven't heard from them this year yet.
Minted said last year they were overwhelmed with requests and offered us their fundraising program instead although they donated the year before.
Our K-12 non profit school event is at the end of the month and I'm getting restless. Our mail is slow and I'm trying to make follow up calls but the managers are never there. We have asked in the newsletters for volunteers to help me make calls or drop off donation letters around town but no one has offered to help. Its so frustrating. I can't do it all.
Plus there are several online companies that I haven't heard back from yet like Ben&Jerry, Minted, Joann Fabric, otterbox, benchmade knives, sports authority, cabot creamery, thinkfun games, sony, Bissell, bushnell, Penal pens, J crew clothes, Treasure knit, Click n kids, Steelers, Twins, Orbitz, Gander Mt Company and AE outfitters. Does anyone know if any of these are not donating this year or some come at the last minute without notice?
Well thanks for everyones help on this site and hope this month brings in lots of donations and lots of tickets sold. Also good luck on everyone else's events. We all work hard.
