How long should it take to get replies?
I have contacted Samsonite, CVS, Sports Authority, Sportclips and had no response after more than 10 days. I got a no from Brooks Brothers and Coach. Letter to MC fundraiser came back not at that address . Applebee's don't cover my area ( I am in GA- apparently it's a different franchise). So many won't even consider you if your not a 501c. Thx

Promoting the killing of animals to kids seems reprehensible.

Chels, many of the companies do require your tax id to verify 501c3 status, and they all have their own timeframes and processes (an online form, a written letter on PTO letterhead, etc.). For a Halloween event I would say that you should start immediately if you've not already done so. Some common deadlines are 2-3 months in advance of the event. For example, I looked at Dick's earlier this week after Helene's post and was already too late to request their support for my PTO's Oct event. (Their window is a minimum 3 months before the event deadline.)

Best of luck to you, and definitely start working your list of potential donors as soon as you can!

I am so super impressed with all of the donations every has gotten!! Just out of curiosity, do you use a tax ID # when dealing with corporate?? What is the turnaround time? Our event is on Halloween. Just making sure we have enough time! Thanks :)

How did you get the Dick's gift cards and the edible arrangements? Was it through corporate or local stores?
Thank you so much.
