I've checked online re:Elite Island Resort and the reviews are really mixed. We've been approved and I think we may offer it and see what happens. We are having our 27th annual bazaar in November and were trying to put together baskets for vacation spots within easy traveling distance. Some local restaurants are going to certificates appetizer rather than $25 or $50 gift cards Soliciting is not an easy job. Would appreciate any info regarding places to apply to in Charlotte/Huntersville Nc area

Hello everyone I am from Albany NY and have had some luck with getting donations from businesses. Here is my list of successful places so far this year. I work for a non profit organization that helps people in mental health recovery.
Teds Fish fry- 2 gift cards ($10 and $15)
Midas-Free oil change
Krauses candy-$10 gift card
Eastern mountain sports- $50 equipment rental gift certificate
Chilis- 2 $5 gift certificates
Fresh healthy Café- $25 gift certificate
Glow golf - 20 coupons for $2 off a game
Starbucks- Gift basket
Advance Auto- Gift bucket
Lindt chocolate- Gift basket
Gertrude hawk chocolates- Gift basket
I went to all of these places myself and just asked the manager for a donation.
Many won't bother to respond at all if they're not going to donate anything. Some turn it around very quickly, others can take up to 6 weeks. Three to four weeks is probably the average I would expect.
