Andy can you tell me how you got Kennedy Space Tickets? How did you contact them? The email I have emails me back saying they do not give donations. Thanks!
Do your volunteers for the nights event pay for a ticket for the event? From what I read, the problems people are dealing with are at every school. I think one person ticks everyone off and then noone wants to return. This is ashame. There have been many times I wanted to quit, but for my kids, I thought it was important to show them not to give up no matter how frustrated things get. I made a committment and live with my decision. I will not return for another year for of all the problems, I too do not want to be associated with the event.
For some it is about there name being known for volunteering, not about actually doing anything. I do what I can for my kids and the school. I do not need my name mentioned or credi given. I do it because I should not because I want the recognition.

Thanks for you kind words. It's been so frustrating this year. One parent made up a list of local places to contact for sponsors that she knew would be open to the idea. The chair never contacted any of the places and to add insult to injury she never even acknowledged the parent's email or communications on the matter! Totally baffling! People want to raise as much money as they can and when the chair is the road block that is just bad.
Another odd thing, our auction was 5 weeks out and we still needed items. One parent suggested we invited parents to donate a small item to one of a number of theme baskets. Chair said "no", we don't have time for that/ Five weeks is no time?? Wow. At this point, some parents are embarrassed to have their name associated with the event given that some local businesses are now upset ect. People feel that their help is not wanted. Really, to be told you cannot assist on the night of the event. Some committee members are not even attending the event at this point. Real shame.
