I've found some success of finding a variety of businesses through Amazon local deals and groupon deals. If I see a local deal that seems appealing, I'll then send an email to that business to ask if they contribute to fundraising auctions. Many times I'll get a response back and info on how to request a donation. I figure if they're advertising through local deals, that they might be interested in getting their name out to school families, etc.
