Regarding your trouble landing tickets and lodging for the Kentucky Derby. Here are a few suggestions. I'm not saying that they will work but at least you have a few ideas
First- Contact the local mayor of the town. Let him/her know what your trying to achive and see if they might be able to help you.
Second- Check with the local chamber of commerce to see if they can give you some suggestions with that day.
Third- Contact the local( KY) congress person and see if they may be able to help you.
Fourth- This is going to sound crazy... Put an ad in the local paper and see if someone would be willing to help you out. I said it was crazy, but you never know who's reading the local paper. Or the local tv station. Write a letter to the 5pm news anchor and see what happens.
I know it's very early in the new year, but I was wondering if anyone has asked Pearl Paradise yet this year. I see that their website still says to check back in 2012.
My event is 2/11 so I don't have a lot of time left. Just wondering weather I should go ahead an send their donation form in or wait until they update that they are accepting requests.

I'm the co-chair for a christian school outside of Philly. Most of my donations so far which are total $5000.00 are from phone calls and a few emails. Ask to speak with the person in charge of the donation requests. Also if you have a carpool line ask parents for suggestions on places where they shop, dine, kids places, and museums. Also it does take time to get a donation or even reply. Don't worry if you didn't hear back from them. But you have to do the hard leg work and call vendors. I've only started doing this and in two months I have so much it's overwhelming.
