To those who feel they don't want to share their list, that is fine, I am not offended and neither should you. I have worked on silent auctions for our school for 3 years, and for other non-profits for many more. I too have spent hundreds of hours compiling lists, but am grateful to all those who share their tips, and happy to share some of mine as well. I wouldn't share everything, mostly because I don't want our local businesses to suddenly get overwhelmed. That being said, I am happy to share the types of businesses we solicit. Our conversations here aren't going to hurt anyones chances. Thanks!
Miranda,

Question for those attempting to put together a Central Florida package ...
what are you doing about transportation in the area? (rental car, shuttle, etc) Even with airfare, park passes, and hotels .. you still have to get around!
In regard to Disney donations. Goggle Disney donation request. You must be fill out the application and they have very strict rules - no donation to family, no door prize, etc. They are very generous with 4 One Day Hopper Passes to the Park. You can make one request every 12 months. Good Luck!
I agree with the earlier posts, my donation list is a sacred thing and I am not apt to share. I have spent hundreds of hours compiling my database. You just have to put in the time ladies. The rewards will speak for themselves. I have worked as chair of a small school auction and we have raised over 70,000 on our best single event. It is a yearlong commitment.
