@ Jeff - We cater our requests to the place. A higher end restaurant we'll ask for $50, or fast food we ask for $25. Chili's has always been very kind to us. At places like Monkey Joes, Bounce Town, Chuck E. Cheeses and such we'll ask for passes, four is a great number. Chuck E. Cheeses will almost always give us a certificate for a Large Pizza, Four Sodas and 25 tokens. Last year they gave us 2 of those certificates.
I ask the local grocery store chain for big dollars, $100 or more. Same with Walmart and Target. Small ethnic groceries, we tend to ask for specific things, like soda, hamburger meat or vegetables for our concession foods.
Movie theaters are great for help too. If you live in the western suburbs of Chicago, Hollywood Palms or Hollywood Blvd. will give you stack of free admittance passes and usually one premier package worth $50. (Two entrances and $30 toward food) Otherwise most movie theaters will give you a couple of tickets. We also always hit up local Putt-Putt golf places where we usually ask for a round for four. Our local skating rink will give us a family pass and the same with the bowling alley. We have way more luck asking for things than asking for money.

oh.. yeah you have to be careful of what you look up, that also happened to me when I looked it up a while ago. But for the dicks sporting good certificate it wasnt a type-o, they sent 4-$50 bonus certificate, and we took it and bought a couple of items for $100 and they also sent coupons where the first page was $10 off of $60 so we used two of the coupons and were able to get stuff, where we paid $120 and coupons off meant we got everything for $100. Then just auctioned off the other two $50 dollar certificates. We are located in Pikesville, MD.
