I've gotten a pretty good response with email and online forms. If you can keep a list of email address of all of those who have donated in the past and gather new ones, copying and pasting is quick and easy and free! If you don't hear back, you can always follow up with a quick phone call. When I have done follow up calls, I have had very few places request a mailed letter. This is only my second year helping with our event and the committe is comprised of people who do not realize the benefits of emailng. I have gotten over 50 items by email and they have gotten very few by letter. They think I spend my life on the computer, which perplexes me. I do not know if they are frustrated that they haven't had a response to their mailed letters or what, but they keep making digs about me always being on the computer. Imagine people making fun of someone who got a ton of items for an fundraising event?? Sad. I laugh it off, but next year they will have to find someone else to help. A friend runs another event and I will work on that instead next year. They are eager to have someone willing to do this. I spend a couple hours here and there over a few months and am done. If you don't personalize the emails to each business it's even quicker.
Does anyone have a name and address to write to Philosophy Inc for a donation.
They have donated to us in the past, but letters to two different addresses have been sent back to me.
The email for Stampin' Up is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The gal then returned her emails to confirm donations from the email, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. For my experience with SU, they did not take very long at all to respond. I looked through the box when it came and I will probably break the products up in to 2 baskets. They sent several duplicates of rub-ons, stamp set and other accessories.
I contacted an SU demo I know in my area to ask her to donate some SU catalogs and their mini catalogs, along with her business card to place in the baskets.

Kcnolan21 - we have the best luck soliciting through email, unless a particular contact requests that a letter be sent. We have about 60% of those that we contact respond in some way (even if they are just telling us no), about 15% never respond but send something out of the blue just before our event date, and about 25% never respond at all.
